This is a compendium of the various documentation covering the construction of a tube ampĀ that I put together a little while ago. The amp was originally designed by the wonderful poindexter of Audiotropic fame. If you are looking for the kit, it’s here.
The most comprehensive resource for the construction of this amp right now is still the instructable. There may be a more polished version in the works at some point. Be sure to check out poindexter, too.
This list covers all the parts used in the amp, except for the absolute basics, such as hookup wire, nuts, and bolts. The part numbers and suppliers are included, so you can go right ahead and order everything for yourself. I will update this list on an ongoing basis with different parts and more suppliers.
These are the schematics of the amp, which you’re going to need if you plan on building it. They are very similar to poindexter’s: power, audio
Here are mine:
These should give you some idea of how to lay out the amp. Of course, you can change up the layout however you like.
This is an excerpt from a really cool old book I stumbled across on tube radio. It’s got some fantastic-looking diagrams and great explanations of tube principles.
An awesome old-fangled video about how tubes work.
